About Me

My amatsu journey

I started my journey after having Amatsu myself!

I was in a great deal of pain with my hip and naturally thought the worst and that my hip was worn out!

Amatsu Therapy was recommended by a Reflexologist friend who noticed that my legs were different lengths.  She was unable to help me but knew an Amatsu Therapist who “probably could”.  Sure enough, this was the case.  Even after the first balance the pain had eased, my legs were the same length and I felt so much better.  I was bowled over by the powerful effects of Amatsu and very quickly decided to study to become a practitioner myself.

After 2 years of study and hard work, I graduated from The Amatsu Training School with distinction.  This was the beginning of an amazing journey, a steep learning curve at times but one that is addictive.  The more I learn, the more I want to know!

My studies are ongoing and I am constantly adding to my skills.

In January 2018 I began the Barral Institute curriculum of Visceral and Neural Manipulation courses.

After that first course – VM1 Abdomen 1, my eyes were opened to an amazingly effective form of manual therapy.  It requires developing a very sensitive touch to ‘listen’ to the body and enable corrections where the body is struggling to correct itself.

To date, I have completed the following courses:

VM1 Abdomen 1.

Listening Techniques.

VM2 Abdomen 2.

VM3 Pelvis.

VM4 Thorax.

VM5 Manual Thermal and Visceroemotional.

Advanced clinical applications of visceral manipulation for common Thyro Cardio Pulmonary issues.

NM1 Neural Manipulation 1 inc Trauma.

NM2 Neural Manipulation 2.  Peripheral nerve manipulation of the upper body.

Brain 1  Advanced Visceral Manipulation of the Brain.

Brain 2  Advanced Visceral Manipulation of the Brain.

It’s often not – ” How long have you had the problem?” Although this is important, it’s more like – ” Why isn’t it healing/getting better?”  By ‘Listening’ to the body, we can find out how to help correct the imbalance and speed up recovery.

I am fully insured and hold a current ‘Emergency First Aid and AED Training’ certificate.

Further studies and interests

I continue to deepen my skills in Visceral and Neural Manipulation by attending Barral Institute  trainings.  Neural Manipulation is of particular interest, as, by working with the  craniosacral rhythm, the body gently guides the corrections for optimum release and re-balancing.

Visceral Manipulation is often recommended by Nutritional therapists and Naturopaths to assist recovery alongside diet change.  I have therefore made it my business to study nutrition and it’s impact so that I can give an informed treatment and offer help and explanations where needed.  I have attended one of Dr Sarah Myhill’s workshop weekends to learn more about diet and health and how to understand the impact of my work.

I have also studied Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride’s GAPS books which are amazingly informative and helpful to clarify the reasons behind many illnesses and behaviours.
